Fees correct as of December 2011. Practical driving test fees do not include the hire of the tuition vehicle. The Hire will normally be the cost of two hours of Driving Lessons in Preston, Chorley and Leyland.

Theory test fee: £31.00.

Practical Driving Test Fees: weekday price £62.00, weekday evening and weekend price £75.00.

 

IMPORTANT

When booking Theory or Practical driving tests online, some of the top results on search engines such as Google, will be companies that will book your tests for you and then charge you an administration fee on top of the actual test fee.

 

Here at Simply Learners Driving School we have heard of people unwittingly paying up to £82 for a driving test, which is £20 over the price you should be paying. If you want to book Theory or Practical Tests make sure you book them through the official “www.Direct.gov. uk” sites then you will not have to pay any more than you have to. To book your Simply Learners Driving School Practical or Theory Test in Preston, Chorley and Leyland Lancashire online or over the phone you will need:

 

• Your valid Great Britain or Northern Ireland provisional driving licence number.
• Your credit or debit card details.
• Your theory test pass date and certificate number (Only needed if booking a Practical Driving Test).

When booking Saturday and weekday evening Practical Driving tests, subject to resources being available, you will be charged a premium rate. Non premium rate Practical Driving tests are available at various times between 7.30 am and 3.27 pm Monday to Friday.

 

To book a practical or theory test by POST you will need an application form. Application forms are generally available at most Driving and Theory test centres. Payment can be made by cheque or postal order, but cash and card payments are not accepted. Application forms are available online, see below, or on request from the Driving Standards Agency booking line. If you choose to book through the post you can specify preferred times but you may have to take whatever time and date they schedule for you.

When you book your Simply Learners Driving School Practical tests in Preston, Chorley and Leyland Lancashire, the booking service will ask you if you would like the confirmation emailed to you or sent to you through the post. When you receive it you should check:

 

• The date and time of your allotted test.
• The test centre and the type of test e.g. group category see table below.

• Note the cancellation date. Normally you have up until 3 working days before the date of your test to cancel your Theory or Practical test, Saturdays are classed as a normal working day. Unless a cancellation is received on or before the cancellation date you may lose your fee if you do not attend the test.
